Senior Vision SLAM Specialist

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain the technical roadmap for Vision SLAM, visual odometry, VIO, and image-based localisation capabilities.
• Design and develop end-to-end pipelines including feature detection, matching, tracking, keyframe management, and loop closure.
• Develop methods for visual-inertial fusion, uncertainty modelling, fault detection, and degradation handling.
• Support vision-based perception pipelines through camera calibration, image quality assessment, and sensor fusion.
• Establish validation methods, metrics, and test processes for SLAM accuracy and mapping quality.
• Embed safety, integrity, and fault detection into the Vision SLAM architecture.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in VSLAM, VIO, or visual state estimation for robotics/autonomous systems.
• At least 2 years of experience in a senior or lead capacity.
• Strong C++ skills and proficient Python capability for prototyping and data analysis.
• Expert knowledge of multi-view geometry, factor-graph optimisation, and visual-inertial fusion.
• Experience with DNN models for vision processing.
• Proven track record of working with Vision SLAM in real-time, safety-relevant, or GNSS-challenged environments.
• Excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within autonomous vehicles, industrial automation, or robotics.
• Familiarity with deep-learning-based features and learned correspondence (e.g., SuperPoint, R2D2, LightGlue).
• Strong publication record or recognized open-source contributions in Vision SLAM.
