Senior Vision Engineer

Form Energy is an American manufacturing and energy technology company revolutionizing energy storage with cost-effective, multi-day technology designed to keep the electric grid secure and reliable. We are scaling up battery manufacturing at our high-volume facility in West Virginia.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and prototype industrial machine vision systems for dimensional and surface quality inspection
• Develop, test, and optimize custom lighting and optics configurations
• Program and deploy vision algorithms using C++, C#, and/or Python
• Validate inspection performance through repeatability and reproducibility studies
• Integrate vision systems with factory PLC and HMI automation platforms
• Transform inline vision data into quality feedback metrics for upstream processes
• Provide on-the-floor troubleshooting and diagnostic support to maximize uptime

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• 5+ years of engineering experience in high-volume manufacturing
• Proficiency with 2D/3D inspection modalities (area scan, linescan, profilometers, lasers, or X-ray/CT)
• Strong knowledge of statistical quality metrics (process capability, alpha/beta risks)
• Experience analyzing industrial process data using SQL, JMP, Minitab, or IBA
• Excellent technical communication skills
