Our client is a nationally recognized, growth-oriented distributor serving the construction and building products industry. Through a combination of organic expansion and strategic acquisitions, the company has built a large and diverse operating platform with hundreds of supplier relationships and significant annual purchasing volume.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive procurement strategy aligned with long-term growth objectives
- Lead enterprise-wide supplier consolidation initiatives to improve purchasing leverage
- Drive cost reduction initiatives across approximately $700 million in annual direct and indirect spend
- Oversee centralized sourcing, inventory planning, replenishment, and tactical procurement functions
- Lead contract negotiations and strategic supplier partnerships
- Build scalable procurement processes utilizing advanced analytics and automation
- Develop company-wide procurement and supply chain KPIs
- Optimize inventory planning strategies to balance service and working capital
- Lead procurement integration efforts for acquisitions
- Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing procurement organization
Requirements
- 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in procurement, sourcing, supply chain, and distribution
- Demonstrated responsibility for annual purchasing volumes exceeding $500 million
- Proven success leading enterprise procurement transformation initiatives
- Extensive experience negotiating strategic supplier agreements
- Experience leading centralized procurement in complex, multi-location businesses
- Strong background managing both direct materials and indirect procurement
- Bachelor's degree required
- Executive-level leadership with a collaborative, hands-on management style
- Exceptional analytical and financial acumen
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree concentration in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Engineering, or Analytics
- Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, and procurement integration initiatives
