Senior Vice President, Neighborhood Strategies

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and management to project leads and multi-disciplinary teams managing large-scale planning, public realm, coastal resilience, and transportation mobility projects
• Oversee the administration of Neighborhood Strategies department, including recruitment, professional development, performance management, and retention of staff
• Articulate visions for and evaluate the feasibility of new, place-based planning projects based on sound planning principles, strategic priorities, community needs, and market realities
• Work closely with the Executive Vice President of Planning, the President’s Office, and City Hall to ensure clear communications and execute strategies
• Provide thought leadership in the design and implementation of community outreach and engagement processes
• Build and maintain relationships with senior leadership in city, state, and federal government agencies, real estate groups, and community organizations

Requirements

• Master’s degree in urban planning, real estate development, public policy, or a related field
• Minimum of 10 years of related experience in urban planning, real estate and/or community economic development
• Significant people management experience
• Demonstrated experience leading complex, large-scale initiatives involving multiple public and private stakeholders
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• NYC residency required within 180 days of hire
