Senior Vehicle & Mission Operations Engineer

Responsibilities

• Define and operationalize Mission Operations concepts, including procedures, tools, and real-time support systems
• Develop telemetry monitoring strategies, fault response frameworks, and command plans
• Collaborate with systems, software, and hardware teams for operational readiness
• Drive the roadmap for mission operations tooling and ground segment workflows
• Serve as a key operator during on-orbit operations and real-time decision-making
• Operate spacecraft during system tests at factories, test facilities, and launch sites
• Interface with customers to scope payload testing
• Assess risks and optimize vehicle build/test flows for production

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, aerospace, mechanical, or computer engineering
• 1+ years of experience operating satellites on-orbit
• 5+ years of experience in operations, integration, or automation engineering
• Experience testing and troubleshooting spacecraft components and systems
• Familiarity with LEOP, telemetry, commanding, and fault protection
• Experience building custom tooling for telemetry, analysis, or data pipelines
• Background in designing or scaling operational architectures for constellations
• Proficiency with scripting or automation tools like Python or Rust

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with HITL or Flatsat software verification testbeds
• Experience working with GAaaS providers
• Experience with Linux systems
• Experience managing contractual interfaces with customers or launch vehicles
