Senior Union Payroll Associate

Responsibilities

• Process multi-state, multi-company weekly and bi-weekly payrolls for union and non-union freelance employees.
• Ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements, federal, state, and local regulations.
• Manage on-demand payments, retroactive payments, tax adjustments, and overpayment collections.
• Interpret and implement withholding orders for levies, garnishments, and child support.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for union payroll questions and resolve customer escalations.
• Support process improvement initiatives to enhance payroll operations and the employee experience.
• Maintain compliance with company policies, internal controls, and SOX requirements.

Requirements

• 4+ years of hands-on union payroll processing experience.
• Knowledge of IBEW, IATSE, AFTRA, or NABET collective bargaining agreements.
• Experience interpreting and setting up withholding orders and involuntary wage assignments.
• Strong working knowledge of FLSA, tax regulations, and wage and hour laws.
• Intermediate Excel skills, including proficiency with VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
• Experience with automated time and attendance systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a high degree of professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications

• Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation.
• Experience working with Workday Payroll.
