About the Company

Stand is building a new class of global property protection using advanced physics and AI to model catastrophic risk at the asset level. Our leadership team includes former founders and CEOs from Metromile, PolicyGenius, WePay, and HotelTonight.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and manage a portfolio of high-net-worth personal lines business, focusing on wind-exposed properties
• Evaluate submissions, determine risk acceptability, and structure coverage terms
• Develop creative solutions for non-standard risks while maintaining profitability
• Partner closely with brokers to provide fast, clear, and consultative underwriting decisions
• Collaborate with mitigation, engineering, and product teams to improve risk selection
• Manage portfolio performance against premium, policy count, and profitability objectives
• Champion new underwriting tools and technology-enabled improvements

Requirements

• Strong personal lines underwriting experience, preferably in high-net-worth or specialty property
• Ability to assess and structure complex risks
• Excellent judgment in ambiguous or non-standard situations
• Strong broker relationship management skills
• Exceptional communication and organizational skills
• Comfort adopting new technology and evolving workflows
• Authorized to work in the U.S. (TN, O-1A, or H-1B transfers with 3+ years remaining considered)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience underwriting high-net-worth homeowners business
• Expertise in catastrophe-exposed property risks, particularly wind
• Familiarity with mitigation strategies or property engineering
• Experience in an MGA, insurtech, or high-growth insurance environment
