Senior Underwriter, Middle Market

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate technical expertise in Middle Market P&C Insurance, including Property, General Liability, Workers’ Compensation, Automobile, and Umbrella.
• Utilize underwriting tools and strategies to ensure strict adherence to company guidelines.
• Perform strategic account reviews and maintain thorough file documentation.
• Analyze and prepare information regarding adverse underwriting decisions, rate appeals, and declinations.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with retail brokers, serving as their primary underwriting resource.
• Actively market assigned territories through client/broker meetings and social engagements.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of underwriting authority or insurance experience.
• Proven experience underwriting and binding profitable business across various account sizes.
• Established relationships with brokers and agents at both regional and national levels.
• Strong negotiation, attention to detail, and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel monthly for broker engagements, including occasional overnight travel.
• Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
