Senior Underwriter, Inland Marine

Responsibilities

• Manage a renewal book of approximately $3M - $4M and drive new business growth of $1M - $2M annually.
• Underwrite various Marine coverages including Ocean Cargo, Builder’s Risk, Civil Construction, Fine Arts, and Contractors Equipment.
• Develop and negotiate pricing, coverage, terms, and conditions for new business and renewals.
• Implement effective pricing and rate strategies to ensure profitability and book growth.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with agents, brokers, and customers.
• Collaborate with internal teams including operations, claims, marketing, and home office management.
• Identify account rounding opportunities to expand coverage within other Chubb practices.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in Inland Marine or Ocean Cargo underwriting.
• Proven marketing and negotiation skills with experience in agency and broker management.
• High degree of proficiency in risk analysis and the underwriting process.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
• Ability to interact effectively with all levels of customers and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of technical issues, compliance, coverage, products, and pricing strategies.
