Senior Underwriter, Executive Assurance

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new and existing Executive Assurance business within set guidelines, authority levels, and service standards.
• Manage and develop key broker relationships through consistent visitation and high-level customer service.
• Identify and execute new business opportunities through systematic broker networking and distribution strategies.
• Mentor, train, and provide guidance to junior underwriters and team members.
• Prepare portfolio performance reports and maintain credit control for the assigned business.
• Ensure all documentation, underwriting notes, and rating processes are accurate, complete, and compliant with organizational standards.
• Collaborate with senior management on future product development and cross-selling opportunities.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar underwriting role.
• Extensive knowledge of the Australian insurance regulatory and compliance environment.
• Proven ability to grow a profitable portfolio and manage complex underwriting problems.
• Strong negotiation skills and an active market presence.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder management.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously.

Preferred Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field.
• Experience working within a financial services legislative framework.
