Senior Underwriter, E&S Property

Responsibilities

• Review applications and financial requirements to determine risk acceptability in accordance with company guidelines
• Utilize pricing components, rating methodologies, and predictive modeling tools to price risk based on financial and competitive analysis
• Demonstrate technical underwriting skills through strategic account reviews and thorough file documentation
• Prepare and analyze information regarding adverse underwriting decisions, rate appeals, and declinations to drive territory results
• Adhere to CAT guidelines and underwriting discipline to minimize exposure and ensure appropriate pricing
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of state and territory regulations, issues, and industry trends

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of insurance underwriting experience
• Proven experience successfully underwriting, quoting, and binding profitable business
• Experience working with large brokerage houses, wholesalers, and specialty retailers
• Established relationships with large brokers on both a regional and national level
• Strong negotiation, communication, and attention to detail skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
