Senior Underwriter

Responsibilities

• Assess the suitability of risks for renewals and new business, including pricing exposures in accordance with approved models and guidelines
• Evaluate additional risk assessment information such as actuarial, financial, and underwriting representative reports
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders in claims, actuarial, and operations departments
• Maintain ongoing liaison with producers to obtain information, evaluate risks, and present terms
• Oversee risks through the entire policy life-cycle, from pre-renewal to ongoing management
• Perform marketing activities and maintain key producer and client relationships through regular meetings
• Implement ceded reinsurance actions in accordance with business unit guidelines
• Support the Line of Business Head with business planning, data analysis, and Lloyd’s reporting
• Mentor and develop junior members of the underwriting team

Requirements

• Extensive underwriting experience within the London or Lloyd’s Market, specifically in the Professional Indemnity (PI) class
• Proven competence in managing and maintaining broker and client relationships
• Strong technical and analytical skills
• Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and mentoring abilities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making
• Knowledge of rating, coverage, and regulations relevant to the class of business
• University degree and professional certification preferred
