Senior Tutor Development Specialist

Responsibilities

• Define and refine teaching quality standards and develop a strategy to ensure tutor quality grows measurably
• Lead the pedagogical and assessment strategy for the Initial Tutor Training program
• Analyze teaching quality metrics to optimize tutor development content and strategy
• Commission tutor development content and train subject matter experts
• Develop the Tutor Academy strategy, including pedagogical content and delivery methods
• Collaborate with B2B, Customer Experience, and Learning Design teams to align curriculum and client needs
• Act as a thought leader on tutor development internally and externally

Requirements

• Significant experience in tutor development, ideally in edtech or a tutoring marketplace
• Experience designing and delivering high-quality tutor development at scale
• Experience delivering one-to-one training in an online environment
• Strong network in tutor development circles and thought leadership in teaching quality
• Excellent facilitation and communication skills for online learner engagement
• Proficiency with data tools such as Amplitude or Looker
• Ability to work cross-functionally with Product, Comms, and Data teams
• Outstanding written and verbal English communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in global language tutoring marketplaces
• Experience with tutor development for language subjects or teaching young children
• Experience delivering training for corporate clients
• Experience using AI tools to enhance teaching or content development
• Experience building partnerships with external assessment or certification providers
• Proficiency in additional languages, especially Spanish
