Responsibilities

• Lead rotordynamic analysis of turbomachinery systems, including critical speed prediction, stability margins, and Campbell diagram development
• Manage bearing selection, preload definition, stiffness/damping trade studies, and lubrication systems
• Define and execute test campaigns instrumented for rotordynamic validation
• Develop and iterate computational models with rotordynamic constraints
• Utilize propulsion cycle models to assess compressor maps and mechanical behavior under dynamic loading
• Define GD&T for rotating assemblies considering rotor balance and seal clearances
• Partner with manufacturing to ensure high-precision production of rotating components

Requirements

• 5+ years in turbomachinery design with rotordynamic analysis and mechanical packaging ownership
• Hands-on experience with rotordynamic modelling tools like DyRoBes or equivalent
• Experience with blade and compressor geometry development using CFD and 1D meanline methods
• Experience with test instrumentation and data reduction for vibration and rotor response
• Proficiency with propulsion cycle tools such as GasTurb or NPSS
• Proficiency in CAD for rotating assemblies using Siemens NX
• Experience with scripting for analysis automation using Python or MATLAB
