Senior Tunnel Ventilation Engineer

Responsibilities

• Consultancy in design, design optimization and construction administration of Tunnel Ventilation and Fire Life Safety systems
• Development of design criteria, technical reports, calculations, drawings, and specifications
• Development of ventilation concepts and strategies using 1-D Subway Environment Simulation (SES) and 3-D Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
• Provide support during commissioning and construction administration
• Assist in growing the firm’s tunnel vent practice through pursuit strategies and technical concepts
• Mentor junior tunnel ventilation engineers and assist in recruiting staff
• Publish technical articles in national and international venues
• Support technical client relationships and marketing
• Collaborate with Risk and Quality Leaders to recommend Risk Management and Quality Plans

Requirements

• BA/BS degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or equivalent
• Ability to work in office with occasional travel outside NYC

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration
• Experience with NFPA 130 and NFPA 502 regulatory requirements
• Experience with systems engineering, integration, and equipment testing
• Proficiency with computer simulation packages and application techniques
• Experience with load and energy modeling, LEED, Revit, and MEP design
• Proven track record in fluid flow, heat, and mass transfer governing equations
