About the role
Responsibilities
- Monitor market exposures and gather information from Bloomberg, economic research, and banking counterparties
- Analyze macroeconomic conditions and market dynamics to estimate impacts on earnings and cash flow
- Evaluate derivatives and hedging instruments regarding costs, benefits, credit exposure, and regulatory requirements
- Assess available accounting treatments for hedging instruments relative to exposures
- Assist Financial Risk Directors in determining market views and hedging strategies
- Execute and monitor risk management strategies, including negotiating, transacting, and booking trades
- Generate reports and analyses to communicate the performance and sensitivity of risk management strategies to stakeholders
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent military experience (U.S. E5 or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class/Sergeant or higher)
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience
- Legal authorization to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship available)
- Demonstrated competence in quantitative statistics and mathematical modeling
- Understanding of hedge accounting principles and financial operations
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in a quantitative field such as Engineering, Finance, or Economics
- Master's degree (MBA with a finance focus preferred)
- CFA Charter holder or currently working towards it
- Experience in Treasury Financial Operations and Financial Planning
