Senior Transportation Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Manage the successful delivery of multidisciplinary transportation civil design projects, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget requirements are met
• Drive regional business development by leveraging established relationships with public agencies, municipalities, and private sector clients
• Lead proposal strategy and development, including premarketing efforts, interviews, scoping, and contract negotiations
• Act as a technical resource and mentor for junior staff, providing guidance on client engagement and pursuit strategies
• Collaborate with practice leaders to deliver integrated solutions and execute regional growth strategies
• Participate in QA/QC reviews and project scoping to maintain high standards of service

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related discipline (e.g., urban planning, environmental sciences)
• 10+ years of experience in the transportation industry
• 5+ years of proven project management experience
• Established professional network in Colorado with a record of winning and delivering transportation work
• Proven experience leading proposals and winning work from public-sector clients
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Cross-disciplinary awareness of transportation-related services and funding sources
• Deep knowledge of transportation policies, processes, and key decision-makers
• Experience mentoring or managing staff and using project management tools
