About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day depot operations through vehicle allocation and basic routing
- Manage route efficiency and optimize disposal outlet usage
- Oversee driver availability and coverage in compliance with legislation
- Perform administrative duties including payroll, bonus, and disposal information input
- Manage vehicle availability, fleet liaison, and monitor gross weights
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and O licence standards
- Complete dispatch office tasks including tachograph records and holiday rotas
- Support mandatory training, inductions, and toolbox talks
Requirements
- Experience in first-line operational management
- Experience in a similar role within the services or logistics industry
- Experience managing in a labour-intensive, multi-shift environment
- Knowledge of health and safety, environmental, and transport legislation
- Strong local geographical knowledge
- Solid transport and logistics knowledge
