Senior Trader - Fuel Oil/Feedstocks

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute trading strategies for feedstocks and fuel oil, leveraging market fundamentals and ExxonMobil assets to capture value.
• Initiate, negotiate, and execute physical and derivative trades to express market views and hedge exposures.
• Monitor market conditions, supply/demand dynamics, and competitive developments to share insights internally.
• Evaluate and execute discretionary opportunities including storage, blending, freight, and arbitrage.
• Partner with Operations to manage physical inventory positions and optimize transportation and logistics decisions.
• Manage market and operational risk in strict adherence to company policies and industry regulations.
• Collaborate with Risk, Credit, Legal, and Accounting teams throughout the trade lifecycle.

Requirements

• 7-10 years of experience in physical or paper energy trading.
• Proven experience in petroleum products trading (physical and/or derivatives).
• Deep knowledge of European fuel oil or feedstock markets (e.g., HSFO, CBO, VLSFO, VGO).
• Expertise in commodity risk management, including hedging, VAR, and exposure management.
• Strong understanding of commodity market fundamentals, trade flows, and arbitrage economics.
• Deep knowledge of Jones Act, foreign flag freight, blending, and storage logistics.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
