Senior Trade Compliance Officer

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary compliance contact for trading desks across physical and financial commodities
• Provide advice on REMIT, MAR, EMIR, and MiFID II obligations
• Design and improve the trade compliance framework, including policies and controls
• Lead trade surveillance and optimize alert scenarios for market abuse risks
• Oversee regulatory reporting and disclosures under relevant regimes
• Coordinate responses to inquiries and audits from regulators and exchanges
• Support regulatory impact assessments for new requirements like REMIT II
• Provide compliance input for new products and trading strategies
• Develop and deliver compliance training for front office and support functions
• Conduct periodic compliance risk assessments and define remediation plans

Requirements

• University degree in law, economics, finance, or a related field
• 7–10 years of professional experience in trade compliance or regulatory roles within energy or commodities trading
• Deep knowledge of REMIT, EMIR, MAR, and MiFID II/MiFIR
• Proven experience designing compliance frameworks and trade surveillance
• Strong understanding of European power and gas markets and wholesale trading
• Ability to interpret complex regulations and communicate advice to stakeholders
• Experience with trade surveillance tools and regulatory reporting systems
• Excellent English communication skills
