About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design tooling for all processes utilized to manufacture Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMCs)
  • Establish best design practices for materials, dimensions, tolerances, and work holding for prototyping and high-volume production
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering integrated teams to design solutions that support process development
  • Support the implementation of automation to improve quality and minimize process costs
  • Identify and implement shop floor process optimization, control methods, and work instructions
  • Establish metrics for tooling effectiveness, cost, and durability
  • Conduct root cause investigations and implement corrective actions
  • Monitor and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) through Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) practices

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • 5+ years of Engineering experience (or 3+ years with an advanced degree)
  • Proficiency with CAD tools such as NX, CATIA, Creo, or SolidWorks
  • In-depth knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles
  • Demonstrated experience with manufacturing processes and assembly techniques
  • U.S. citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing molds, machining fixtures, or assembly fixtures for composite or ceramic processing in the aerospace industry
  • At least 2 years of experience with NX solid modeling software
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and process improvement tools
  • Understanding of additive manufacturing and advanced tooling technologies
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
