Antares is building mass-producible, inherently safe, deployable microreactors for terrestrial, underwater, and space applications. Formed in 2023 by experts from SpaceX, MIT, and various national laboratories, the company aims to make clean energy abundant from Earth to the Asteroid Belt.

Responsibilities

  • Perform thermal-fluid, mechanical, and structural analyses for cooling system components including piping, ducts, and stacks
  • Define system architecture, operating limits, design margins, and control strategies
  • Develop design documentation, engineering calculations, and technical justifications for licensing
  • Support component and system-level testing by developing test articles and instrumentation plans
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with reactor systems, manufacturing, and procurement teams
  • Support supplier selection and technical evaluations
  • Provide engineering leadership throughout the design, analysis, testing, and deployment lifecycle

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Nuclear Engineering
  • 5+ years of professional engineering experience in thermal-fluid, HVAC, or cooling systems
  • Experience with thermal, fluid flow, and structural engineering calculations
  • Ability to work long hours and weekends to support critical milestones
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or eligible for ITAR authorization

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher in a related thermal sciences discipline
  • Experience with natural circulation or buoyancy-driven heat transfer systems
  • Proficiency with ANSYS, COMSOL Multiphysics, or equivalent CFD/FEA software
  • Expertise in HVAC or industrial ventilation system design
  • Knowledge of ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code and ASME B31 piping codes
  • Experience serving as a technical lead or Responsible Engineer
