Senior Test/Operations Engineer

Responsibilities

• Serve as the subject matter expert for testing mechanical, piping/process, glovebox, electrical, and HVAC systems
• Provide oversight for the commissioning and readiness of nuclear facilities in compliance with DOE O 425.1 D or NRC CFR requirements
• Review and evaluate contractor testing programs, technical products, and records for quality and accuracy
• Provide technical guidance for chemical processes, mechanical engineering, and electrical systems
• Plan and perform assessments, evaluate results, and recommend process improvements
• Produce high-quality written assessment reports with minimal revisions

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Engineering from an accredited college
• Minimum 10 years of experience in engineering or nuclear operations at a DOE/NRC regulated facility
• Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or leadership position
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration or past Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) certification
• Ability to secure unescorted access authorization to plant site
• Proficiency in reading prints and process piping diagrams
• Experience with NQA-1 requirements and ASME/ANSI/IBC codes

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as a Senior Reactor Operator (SRO)
• Knowledge of Bechtel National, Inc. (BNI) procedures and processes
• Experience leading Operational Readiness Reviews (ORR) or Operational Readiness Assessment Teams (ORAT)
• Knowledge of instrumentation and distributed control systems
