Senior Test Engineering Technician

Responsibilities

• Manage server upgrades, repairs, automated OS provisioning, and rebuild projects.
• Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain various server and coolant platforms.
• Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting following standard operating procedures.
• Execute reliability testing, including environmental and mechanical stress tests (shock, vibration, temperature cycling, etc.).
• Communicate, report, and escalate technical incidents to AMD leadership.
• Maintain a safe lab environment, including the correct use of ESD gear and personal protective equipment.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of semiconductor chip technology and server hardware.
• Experience with rack and cabling management in a lab or data center environment.
• Proficiency in component-level work, including SMT soldering and repair on multilayer PCBs.
• Experience using microscopy and X-ray inspection tools for solder joint analysis.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods.
• Proficiency with Windows OS.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology.
• CompTIA A+ or Server+ certifications.
• Hands-on experience testing GPUs, switches, and CPUs in a data center lab.
• Experience with Linux PXE services and Windows Server OS.
• Scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
• MCP/MSCE certification.
