Senior Technician, Design Support

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering models and drawings in accordance with company requirements and standards.
• Liaise with technicians, engineers, and global WSP offices regarding work issues and deadlines.
• Ensure drawings comply with Project Design Brief Instructions and WSP QA procedures.
• Function as a Team Lead technician by managing modeling, detailing, resource management, and project deliverables.
• Supervise drawing issues and prioritize work packages in coordination with document controllers.
• Prepare project status reports, including work completion targets and resource allocation.
• Train and mentor staff in technical aspects, CAD/BIM software proficiency, and best practices.
• Provide feedback to improve departmental standards, working methods, and guidelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in a technical design or BIM environment.
• Proficiency in Revit Structures and AutoCAD.
• Extensive experience in structural modeling and detailing of reinforced concrete and steel structures.
• Hands-on experience with BIM360 and BIM360 Docs/ProjectWise.
• Strong management and supervision skills, with the ability to manage workloads and junior staff.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients, management, and multidisciplinary teams.
• High level of attention to detail and ability to meet strict project deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Skills in Dynamo and coding.
• Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
