About the role
Responsibilities
- Create clear API and SDK documentation that enables fast, successful integration
- Ensure accuracy with real request and response examples grounded in system behavior
- Partner with Engineering and Product to validate APIs and maintain code-to-doc alignment
- Improve discoverability and self-serve onboarding by treating documentation as a product
- Use docs-as-code and AI-driven tooling to improve accuracy and reduce drift
- Apply AI and automation to scale content creation and updates
- Identify gaps through customer feedback and drive continuous improvement
- Align cross-functionally on documentation priorities and standards
Requirements
- 5+ years writing for developer audiences, including APIs and SDKs
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON, and integration workflows
- Experience with OpenAPI or Swagger in API-first environments
- Proficient in docs-as-code tools such as GitHub, Markdown, Jira, and Postman
- Ability to read code, test APIs, and ensure code-to-doc alignment
- Proven ability to improve documentation clarity, structure, and usability
- Experience using AI or automation to scale documentation workflows
- Experience in fintech, banking, or payments with knowledge of integrations
- Strong understanding of developer experience and information architecture
- Strong communicator who can operate independently
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SDK documentation across web or mobile
- Familiarity with developer onboarding flows and sandbox environments
- Background in engineering, product, or developer relations
- Experience in measuring and improving documentation effectiveness
- Familiarity with modern documentation platforms such as Mintlify
