About the role
Responsibilities
- Design and develop advanced algorithms for precise time and frequency synchronization.
- Develop and maintain clock steering, holdover, drift compensation, reference selection, filtering, and anomaly detection algorithms.
- Create models and simulations to analyze timing system behavior and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define new product features and timing performance requirements.
- Translate system requirements into implementable algorithm designs and detailed technical documentation.
- Support software and hardware engineers during development, debugging, board bring-up, and system validation.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers.
- Investigate field issues and perform root-cause analysis to improve algorithm robustness.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
- 15+ years of professional engineering experience.
- 8+ years of experience in algorithm development, control systems, signal processing, or timing systems.
- Strong background in precise time and frequency technology or control system design and analysis.
- Proven experience with synchronization, estimation, filtering, servo control, or oscillator management algorithms.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant engineering or mathematical field.
- Experience with IEEE 1588 PTP and NTP protocols.
- Experience with GPS/GNSS receivers and timing systems.
- Proficiency with C, Python, or MATLAB.
- Experience with clock/frequency synthesis, measurement, or RF communications.
- Ability to operate efficiently in a Linux/Unix environment.
