About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop advanced algorithms for precise time and frequency synchronization.
  • Develop and maintain clock steering, holdover, drift compensation, reference selection, filtering, and anomaly detection algorithms.
  • Create models and simulations to analyze timing system behavior and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define new product features and timing performance requirements.
  • Translate system requirements into implementable algorithm designs and detailed technical documentation.
  • Support software and hardware engineers during development, debugging, board bring-up, and system validation.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers.
  • Investigate field issues and perform root-cause analysis to improve algorithm robustness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of professional engineering experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in algorithm development, control systems, signal processing, or timing systems.
  • Strong background in precise time and frequency technology or control system design and analysis.
  • Proven experience with synchronization, estimation, filtering, servo control, or oscillator management algorithms.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant engineering or mathematical field.
  • Experience with IEEE 1588 PTP and NTP protocols.
  • Experience with GPS/GNSS receivers and timing systems.
  • Proficiency with C, Python, or MATLAB.
  • Experience with clock/frequency synthesis, measurement, or RF communications.
  • Ability to operate efficiently in a Linux/Unix environment.
