Senior Technical Specialist/SME-Ground-Launch Counter- Airl Missles (Ground Segment)

Responsibilities

• Serve as a key technical resource for ground-segment elements, including launchers, ground support equipment, power systems, and site infrastructure
• Evaluate contractor system designs, interface definitions, integration approaches, and verification plans
• Assess system interfaces and Interface Control Documents (ICDs) to ensure alignment with system-level requirements
• Research comparable missile and air defense systems to identify relevant technologies and lessons learned
• Evaluate launcher survivability, mobility, signature management, and operation in contested environments
• Assess reload, re-arm, and sustainment concepts, including logistics footprint and operational tempo
• Contribute to the development and execution of test strategies, including ground testing and live-fire demonstrations
• Identify and assess technical risks related to ground systems and recommend mitigation strategies
• Develop and deliver technical briefings and decision support materials for Government stakeholders

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field
• 10+ years of experience in missile systems, air defense systems, or closely related domains
• Hands-on experience with ground-segment elements such as launch systems, ground support equipment, or system integration
• Experience supporting system integration, test, fielding, or operational evaluation of complex defense systems
• Ability to independently assess technical issues and provide actionable recommendations for Government decision-making
• Active DoD Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting ground-based air defense or missile programs (e.g., Patriot, NASAMS)
• Background supporting activities at Eglin Air Force Base or White Sands Missile Range
• Familiarity with deployment logistics, mobility, and expeditionary basing concepts
• Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), digital engineering, or open system architectures
• Experience reviewing modeling and simulation used to assess system performance
