Senior Technical Specialist, General Liability Claims

Responsibilities

• Handle Sompo Casualty claims (primary and/or excess) and manage related systems and processes
• Provide technical oversight and guidance to TPA claim handlers and supervisors
• Adhere to client-specific claim handling guidelines, providing coverage and analytical analysis of potential exposures
• Manage counsel to develop and execute strategies to control expenses and resolve litigated claims
• Establish appropriate reserves and analyze loss and expense trends to improve portfolio results
• Ensure all claim information is accurately and timely recorded in compliance with company standards
• Represent the company's interests in meetings and negotiations
• Support underwriters and actuaries during the renewal process

Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in general liability claims handling
• 3-5+ years of experience handling excess claims, including large limit and high exposure claims
• Bachelor's degree required
• Strong negotiating, analytical, written, and organizational skills
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Ability to establish close working relationships with underwriting and actuarial departments

Preferred Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree
• Insurance designations such as RPLU, CPCU IIA, or AMIM
• Experience with Guidewire, Genius, or ImageRight
• Multiple state adjuster licenses
