Senior Technical Lead - Autonomous Control Systems

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance C++ applications for mining, drilling, and construction equipment.
• Lead the development of autonomous control platforms using C++ (11/14), Qt, and embedded Linux.
• Architect and optimize real-time systems for autonomous drilling, haulage, and material handling.
• Integrate sensor fusion technologies including LiDAR, cameras, and IMUs for advanced autonomy and ADAS capabilities.
• Collaborate with global cross-functional teams to define and ship new features and brand-agnostic automation solutions.
• Mentor engineering teams, conduct technical reviews, and implement software development best practices.
• Drive technical validation and simulation using tools like Pytest, Gazebo, and Docker.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Electronics, Mechatronics, Robotics, Computer Science, or similar).
• 8+ years of professional experience in software engineering or related fields.
• Proficiency in C++ (C++11/14) with expertise in OOP, data structures, and multithreading.
• Experience with embedded Linux, RTOS, and shell scripting.
• Knowledge of communication protocols such as CAN, J1939, LIN, and Ethernet.
• Experience with Qt GUI development and advanced debugging using GDB.
• Proven skills in unit testing and automation testing with Pytest.
• Familiarity with GIT, CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps), and containerization (Docker).

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in heavy machinery, mining, construction, or automotive control systems.
• Experience with ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems).
• Knowledge of machine learning, deep learning, or computer vision.
• Experience with simulation tools like Gazebo, Unity, or Unreal.
• Agile certifications such as Scrum Master or Product Owner.
