Senior Technical Designer

Responsibilities

• Develop technical packages for fit sample development in all categories
• Evaluate fit samples, pre-production and TOP samples for specs, quality and workmanship
• Participate in maintaining consistency of product fit, technical specifications and development processes across brands
• Involved in fittings with designers and merchandisers on live models and body forms
• Write up of fit comments to factory based on fitting providing technical comments and illustrations/photos
• Maintain a product library for future reference
• Correspond with factory and retailers’ technical staff on a daily basis to solve problems
• Work with Production department on follow-up and timing of approval comments to meet delivery expectations
• Act as a liaison between Design, Sales, Production, and Factory to ensure samples are made to correct specifications
• Log into vendor websites to update and retrieve information
• Plan appropriate fit schedules with models and designers
• Update and maintain department’s fit logs

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in Men's /Woman's technical design
• Extensive experience working with Walmart
• Knowledge in assembling a detailed technical package for style development
• Experience participating in fittings
• Ability to assign easily understood points of measure
• Ability to determine appropriate grade rules to all points of measure
• Highly organized and experienced in all phases of technical design
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with PLM is a plus
