Senior Tax Manager

Responsibilities

• Own Canadian corporate income tax compliance, including all required schedules and provincial jurisdictions.
• Manage GST/HST and applicable provincial indirect tax compliance.
• Maintain transfer pricing documentation and intercompany agreements to ensure technically sound and defensible positions.
• Lead the Canadian component of tax reporting in coordination with the US team.
• Monitor and translate Canadian tax changes (federal, provincial, Pillar Two) into actionable business decisions.
• Manage relationships with tax authorities and resolve inquiries.
• Support US income tax provision, federal and state compliance review, and month-end close.
• Integrate AI-driven workflows using tools like Claude to accelerate research, drafting, and analysis.

Requirements

• 10+ years of Canadian tax expertise with a track record of technical leadership.
• Background at a major accounting firm within a Canadian corporate or international tax group.
• Extensive multinational tax experience, specifically managing US and Canadian cross-border obligations.
• Deep transfer pricing expertise, including the ability to defend technical positions.
• Meaningful US tax experience sufficient to support provision and compliance workloads.
• CPA (Canada) or equivalent professional designation.
• Proven ability to use AI tools to automate mechanical tasks and optimize tax workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within a public company environment.
• Background in the technology sector or businesses with significant cross-border activity.
• Proficiency with finance and accounting platforms such as NetSuite or Snowflake.
