Senior Tax Accountant

Responsibilities

• Prepare U.S. federal, state, and local tax returns, estimates, and payments for the corporate holding company and insurance subsidiaries
• Conduct state nexus analysis and prepare sales, use, and other indirect taxes
• Maintain and adhere to the tax compliance calendar
• Prepare monthly tax journal entries and quarterly tax reconciliations
• Develop financial data, analysis, and modeling to support various tax projects
• Prepare responses to audits and tax notices
• Assist with annual and quarterly GAAP and Statutory tax provisions and forecast modeling
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance tax operations

Requirements

• 4+ years of tax experience in a public accounting firm or a corporate tax department
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent commensurate experience

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA certification and/or a Master's of Taxation
• Experience with the preparation of corporate tax provisions
• Background in the insurance industry
• Knowledge of Statement of Statutory Accounting Principle (SSAP) 101 tax reporting
• Experience implementing tax provision software
