About the role
Responsibilities
- Prepare individual and business tax returns
- Prepare financial statements
- Perform audit procedures as assigned by supervisors/managers
- Handle monthly and yearly bookkeeping and client write-up
- Supervise and mentor staff accountants on small jobs
- Plan and perform small audits
- Perform initial review procedures on staff accountant work
- Conduct research tasks
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 1 to 3 years of experience in public accounting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Basic understanding of auditing, accounting, and tax concepts
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to learn various computer programs
Preferred Qualifications
- Desire to pursue CPA certification
- Developing or emerging leadership skills
