About the role
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute ground and flight tests for experimental, prototype, and production aircraft to determine system functionality and handling qualities
- Act as a subject matter expert on aircraft design performance, mission system capabilities, and operating limitations
- Develop and coordinate flight test plans, procedures, and test cards to achieve qualification or certification
- Write technical flight reports and provide input for the development of flight manuals and related documentation
- Evaluate flight data to provide recommendations regarding aircraft handling, systems operations, and design improvements
- Collaborate with government representatives and customers to resolve technical issues and support demonstration activities
- Ensure all flight activities comply with regulatory standards and company safety policies
Requirements
- US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field
- Graduate of a recognized Test Pilot School
- FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Single Engine Land (SEL) and Instrument ratings
- Current FAA Class II medical certificate
- 1,500 hours of first-pilot time in tactical fighter or trainer aircraft
- 100+ flight hours as first pilot in experimental, engineering, or operational flight tests
- Military Flight Test experience
Preferred Qualifications
- FAA ATP or Commercial pilot’s certificate with MEL and C/L Thrust Limitation removed
- Instructor Pilot rating in tactical fighter or trainer aircraft
- Previous qualification in aircraft with advanced fly-by-wire control systems
- Developmental flight test experience in tactical aircraft
- Strong ability to communicate complex flight test concepts in written and oral forms
