Senior Systems Test Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own and drive the test initiatives for Saronic's system software, including HITL test catalogs and station orchestrators
• Design and roll out a unified test strategy combining Rust unit tests, VM-based integration, and HITL-based tests
• Build out property-based and deterministic simulation testing across the software stack
• Stand up fuzz testing infrastructure and identify high leverage surfaces
• Expand HITL test coverage and treat test stations as a first-class product
• Inject faults and build chaos/fault injection capabilities like network partitions and sensor dropouts
• Build interfaces between onboard test infrastructure and cloud infrastructure for artifact storage and metrics

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience in robotics, autonomous vehicles, or distributed systems
• Strong programming skills in Rust and/or C++, plus Python for orchestration and CI tooling
• Hands-on experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) test rigs, fuzzing, or large-scale simulation pipelines

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with deterministic simulation testing and property-based testing crates
• Familiarity with NixOS, Nix flakes, and Cargo integration
• Knowledge of robotics middleware (ROS/ROS2) and embedded Linux protocols
