Senior Systems Operations Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage installed systems and infrastructure within the Systems Operations functional area
• Increase system efficiencies and reduce human intervention through automation
• Review and analyze operational support systems and application software to ensure high availability
• Partner with application teams to onboard platform automation solutions for patching, password management, and certificate renewal
• Collaborate with vendors and technical personnel to resolve complex issues and maintain infrastructure stability
• Design, operationalize, and scale production middleware applications including Tomcat, JBoss, Apache, and Weblogic
• Identify and communicate technical infrastructure requirements and implement change requirements via structured control processes

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Systems Engineering, Technology Architecture, or equivalent professional experience
• Proficiency with RHEL, Windows, and NGDC operating systems
• Strong automation skills using Ansible and YAML-based workflow definitions
• Extensive scripting experience with Python, Shell, Batch, and Advanced PowerShell
• Experience with middleware products including Tomcat, JBoss, Apache, and Weblogic
• Proficiency with monitoring and logging tools such as AppDynamics and Splunk (including query and dashboard creation)
• Experience using ITSM tools for incident, change, and request management

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience providing L2 support, including extensive debugging, incident management, and problem management
• Knowledge of hybrid cloud operations and application migration support
• Familiarity with vulnerability remediation, secure configuration enforcement, and compliance standards
• Ability to document technical processes using Confluence and SharePoint
