Senior Systems Operations Engineer

Responsibilities

• Work on complex, broad-impact initiatives including high-level systems consultation for technology teams.
• Participate in large-scale planning of computer systems and network infrastructure for Systems Operations.
• Review and analyze complex technical challenges and escalated support issues related to core business solutions.
• Make critical decisions on technical changes, enhancements, and design standards.
• Collaborate with engineering, SRE, and DevOps teams to resolve systems support issues and achieve reliability goals.
• Design, build, and maintain dashboards, alerts, and telemetry pipelines.
• Participate in root cause analysis and incident response activities using observability data.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in Systems Engineering, Technology Architecture, or equivalent.
• Proficiency in UNIX/Linux environments.
• Strong scripting skills in Python and Shell for automation and data analysis.
• Knowledge of SRE fundamentals, including SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, AppDynamics, or Elastic APM).
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Ability to work a 16x5 schedule and participate in weekend on-call rotations.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience in IT operations, monitoring, observability, or SRE-related roles.
• Familiarity with Gen AI or Agentic AI concepts applied to observability and anomaly detection.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
