About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of systems engineers, providing technical direction across the full development lifecycle
- Own engineering execution for scope, schedule, and cost, including project planning and risk management
- Manage and allocate engineering resources to meet program priorities and mission needs
- Utilize Earned Value Management (EVM) to track and ensure program success
- Lead and provide technical guidance for proposal and capture activities
- Ensure disciplined use of established development processes, lifecycle plans, and industry standards
- Drive hiring, staffing decisions, and performance management to build high-performing teams
Requirements
- University Degree with 10+ years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree with 7+ years of experience in a STEM field
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance required prior to start date
- U.S. citizenship is required
- Proven experience in a project engineering or technical lead role with cost and schedule accountability
- Strong background in Earned Value Management (EVM)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and the Atlassian tool suite (e.g., JIRA)
- Experience with tools such as Teamwork Cloud, CAMEO, or JAMA
- Proven ability to coach, mentor, and develop engineering talent
- Strong analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills in dynamic environments
