Senior Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own the AWS EKS Kubernetes platform including lifecycle management and capacity planning
• Evolve ArgoCD-based GitOps deployment workflows
• Build and maintain Prometheus/Grafana observability platforms
• Manage and extend Terraform codebases for AWS infrastructure
• Lead adoption of OpenTelemetry for distributed tracing and metrics
• Manage Linux OS configuration, hardening, and performance tuning
• Partner with security to enforce IAM, secrets management, and network policies in a HIPAA environment

Requirements

• 5–8 years of systems or platform engineering experience
• Deep Kubernetes expertise (networking, storage, RBAC, internals)
• Production experience with AWS EKS
• Strong Linux fundamentals (systemd, kernel tuning, troubleshooting)
• Proficiency with Terraform
• Experience with ArgoCD or Flux GitOps workflows
• Experience with Prometheus and Grafana
• Working knowledge of OpenTelemetry
• Programming experience with Python, TypeScript, or Bash
• Experience operating in regulated environments (HIPAA, SOC 2)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with service mesh (Linkerd, Istio)
• Familiarity with Kafka in Kubernetes
• Experience with AWS Secrets Manager or External Secrets Operator
• Prior experience in healthcare or health-tech
• Open source contributions
