Senior Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, integrate, and develop space-based optical instruments, subsystems, and payloads for airborne and space platforms
• Develop and maintain technical budgets for vehicle performance
• Manage system requirements and verification techniques
• Perform simulations and analysis across vehicle functions
• Develop test methods and conduct data analysis
• Provide technical oversight of system architecture, interfaces, mission assurance, and compliance
• Assist with program and product management
• Develop interface specifications, CONOPS definition, and other design documents
• Support the development and testing of space payloads for spacecraft integration

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (systems, software, computer, electrical, aerospace, or mechanical)
• Active security clearance
• U.S. citizenship required
• 5+ years of aerospace engineering experience (Senior I) or 8+ years (Senior II)
• Experience in systems engineering with a focus on space or airborne instruments
• Proficiency with requirements management tools like JAMA, Doors, or Cameo

Preferred Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance
• Master’s or PhD in a relevant engineering discipline
• EO/IR payload integration experience
• Proficiency in MATLAB or Simulink
• Experience with space environment testing (vibe, shock, radiation, thermal, EMI)
• Knowledge of hardware interfaces and communications protocols
• Experience in astronomy, physics, or remote sensing
