About the role
Responsibilities
- Design and optimize complex optical and imaging systems for the Incucyte live-cell imaging platform
- Conduct system-level characterization, verification, and testing of complex instruments
- Lead the development and management of user needs and product requirements, including verification and validation
- Perform risk assessments such as DFMEA and hazard analyses at the system and subsystem levels
- Ensure product quality regarding usability, reliability, functionality, and manufacturability
- Provide engineering support for troubleshooting and development throughout the entire product lifecycle
- Support intellectual property strategies by documenting novel, patentable ideas and experimental data
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Optical, Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in systems engineering or product development
- Minimum 3 years of experience in optical design for illumination and imaging systems (microscopy or similar)
- At least 1 year of knowledge regarding Lasers and Wavefunction
- Demonstrated ability to apply systems engineering principles to complex products
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in a relevant engineering or scientific field
- Proficiency with COMSOL, Zmax, or Ray tracing applications
- Experience with micro-fluidics
