Senior Systems Engineer (Optical Design)

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize complex optical and imaging systems for the Incucyte live-cell imaging platform
• Conduct system-level characterization, verification, and testing of complex instruments
• Lead the development and management of user needs and product requirements, including verification and validation
• Perform risk assessments such as DFMEA and hazard analyses at the system and subsystem levels
• Ensure product quality regarding usability, reliability, functionality, and manufacturability
• Provide engineering support for troubleshooting and development throughout the entire product lifecycle
• Support intellectual property strategies by documenting novel, patentable ideas and experimental data

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Optical, Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in systems engineering or product development
• Minimum 3 years of experience in optical design for illumination and imaging systems (microscopy or similar)
• At least 1 year of knowledge regarding Lasers and Wavefunction
• Demonstrated ability to apply systems engineering principles to complex products

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a relevant engineering or scientific field
• Proficiency with COMSOL, Zmax, or Ray tracing applications
• Experience with micro-fluidics
