Senior Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the definition and integration of the holistic mission platform baseline across hardware, software, payloads, and mission operations
• Partner with Business Development and Product Management to define end-to-end technical roadmaps for spacecraft platform families
• Establish and release standardized capability baselines for platforms to enable seamless inheritance by Mission Lead Systems Engineers
• Act as a strategic integration peer to Hardware, Flight Software, Ground Software, and Operations leads
• Execute system-level simulation and analysis to ensure resource budgets and performance meet specifications
• Drive Verification & Validation (V&V) and "Test Like You Fly" (TLYF) campaigns
• Shape fault management architectures and operational concepts to reduce operator toil
• Drive systems standardization by creating reusable requirements and documentation
• Track high-level system Key Performance Parameters (KPPs) and integration metrics

Requirements

• M.S. or higher degree in an engineering field
• 8+ years of experience in multi-disciplinary environments, preferably with spacecraft systems or payload integration
• Experience transitioning organizations from custom projects to standardized product-line engineering
• Extensive experience in AI&T workflows and V&V strategies
• Proven ability to drive alignment across senior, cross-functional stakeholders
• Deep understanding of space vehicle dynamic behavior and fault management
• History of delivering complex, software-intensive systems
• Excellent communication and coordination skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as a lead systems engineer in an agile environment
• Software skills in Python or Julia
• Remote sensing instrument experience (optical, multispectral, RF)
• Familiarity with requirements management and systems modeling tools
