Senior Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Use NASA and NASA-like systems engineering approaches, including model based system engineering (MBSE) to manage requirements and milestones
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to lead the design, development, and test of spaceflight hardware programs
• Create technical documentation for government contracts, white-papers, and presentations
• Own the execution of multiple interrelated programs and projects
• Analyze stakeholder needs to identify gaps, risks, and mitigation strategies
• Communicate project status to stakeholders and leadership via dashboards and presentations
• Lead a multi-disciplinary team in developing complex electro-mechanical robotic systems

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or STEM-related field
• 8+ years of engineering product development experience
• 3+ years of experience in R&D environments
• 5+ years of experience in systems engineering for space applications
• Proven track record of managing hardware system development projects
• Strong understanding of requirements capture, risk management, and work breakdown structures
• Knowledge of or direct experience with MBSE
• Experience in R&D engineering, test/validation, and manufacturing

Preferred Qualifications

• M.S. in Systems Engineering
• Experience with the design and development of robotic systems
• Experience in Aerospace with spaceflight hardware development
• Experience with Additive manufacturing technologies
• Previous start-up experience
