About the role
Responsibilities
- Support safety risk assessments for complex driving maneuvers to ensure functional safety goals are met
- Design, implement, and maintain event detectors for vehicle log data
- Partner with data engineering and simulation teams to integrate event detectors into automated pipelines
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop system-level concepts for autonomous vehicle features
- Define and maintain system and subsystem requirements with full traceability
- Analyze large-scale vehicle log datasets to characterize event frequency and severity
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in automotive or robotics engineering
- 2+ years working on autonomous driving systems
- Strong understanding of sensor modalities (camera, lidar, radar) and perception pipelines
- Hands-on experience writing signal- or rule-based detectors against structured log data (ROS bags, Parquet/Arrow)
- Familiarity with autonomous vehicle simulation platforms (e.g., CARLA)
- Proficiency in Python (pandas, numpy, polars) and SQL
- Experience with Linux, command-line interface, and git
- Knowledge of requirements management and requirement-based design
