About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead sub-system development for major new product programs or manage the entire scope of smaller programs.
- Provide technical expertise in heat transfer, thermodynamics, fan systems, and thermal management for next-generation HVAC&R and electronic control systems.
- Develop and execute testing and qualification protocols for systems, sub-systems, and components.
- Perform reliability analysis of components and systems and review test results against design specifications.
- Coordinate the development and release of engineering documents.
- Provide daily direction to supporting Designers and Test Technicians.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Design Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering.
- Identify reliable and cost-effective purchased components for new product development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in refrigeration design, heat transfer, fan systems, structural analysis, or electronic control systems.
- 3+ years of experience in the specification, design, development, and manufacture of products in HVAC refrigeration and compression.
- Unrestricted authorization to work in the USA (no visa sponsorship available).
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Degree in Systems, Electrical, or Mechanical engineering.
- Experience with model-based design techniques and thermo-fluid system control development.
- Proficiency with tools such as Ansys/Fluent, Matlab/Simulink, Creo, or SAP.
- Knowledge of industry standards including CSA/ANSI, UL, AHRI, ASHRAE, DOE, or EPA.
- Experience integrating and verifying/validating performance of complex systems.
