About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical contributions to requirement analysis, detailed design, and verification for medical device products.
  • Develop and refine user/product requirements and collaborate with developers for implementation and testing.
  • Perform system and medical risk management activities to ensure product safety for patients and caregivers.
  • Identify technical problems and provide innovative, creative solutions using problem-solving tools like 5 Whys and Pareto charts.
  • Create high-quality technical documentation, including design requirement specifications, engineering prints, and bills-of-materials.
  • Simulate therapy algorithms using modeling and simulation software such as Matlab/Simulink.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Team Leads to resolve engineering changes and meet project schedules.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
  • 7-11 years of experience in Systems Engineering, design, and development of complex electrical/electronic systems.
  • Proven experience in electromechanical hardware development, preferably in highly regulated industries like medical devices.
  • Hands-on experience with analog/digital circuit design and embedded systems (8-, 16-, and 32-bit microcontrollers, Arm Cortex-M series).
  • Proficiency in Matlab/Simulink for modeling and simulation.
  • Experience with industry-standard tools such as Altium, PSpice, or OrCAD.
  • Technical knowledge of communication protocols including CAN, SPI, I2C, and UART.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with medical device regulations including FDA, ISO13485, UL/IEC 60601-1, and CE/UL certification.
  • Experience in designing circuits involving batteries, blowers, compressors, motor control, or solenoid control.
  • Working knowledge of design QA, DFx, and DFMEA.
