Senior Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide collaborative technical leadership to establish high-level data mesh design patterns and prototypes in multi-vendor environments.
• Ensure consortium members work toward a common interoperable technical vision.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks to ensure compliance with global standards and DoD system interoperability.
• Create and review technical documentation, including diagrams, detailed assessments, and design documents.
• Serve as a senior technical advisor for formulating technical approaches, tool selection, and diagnostic methods for AI-driven problem solving.
• Assist in the evaluation of new products and services and the development of network architecture.
• Ensure functional and performance analysis models reflect operational requirements.

Requirements

• Active DoD Secret Clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or a closely related field (e.g., Modeling and Simulation Engineering).
• 7-10 years of experience (or a Master's degree plus 5 years of experience).
• Proficiency in Python programming.
• Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools such as Cameo, IBM Rhapsody, or Labview.
• Strong knowledge of network capacity planning, network security principles, and network management best practices.
• Experience with network design and data exchange standards (APIs, cloud storage, and access-denied environments).
• Excellent technical writing skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Data Mesh Design and Microservice Architecture.
• Understanding of Zero Trust Architecture and Access Management.
• Knowledge of Systems of Systems and DoD Classification Implementation.
