Senior Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex technical problems and design solutions for Akuna’s global infrastructure platform
• Design, develop, and maintain orchestration and configuration solutions
• Architect and maintain multi-vendor, tier-based storage solutions
• Build test automation frameworks for systems performance testing and tuning
• Collaborate with developers and infrastructure engineers to research new products and techniques to improve efficiency
• Create tools to assist teams in optimizing available infrastructure
• Develop comprehensive technical documentation and lead knowledge transfer sessions to mentor team members

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
• 5-7 years of systems engineering experience
• Advanced Linux knowledge, including kernel tuning and customizing kernels
• Deep understanding of virtualization and containerization technologies
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python and Bash
• Extensive experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible and Prometheus
• Expertise in troubleshooting multicast and TCP performance issues
• Experience automating infrastructure builds (e.g., Preseed, Kickstart, or Ansible customization)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the trading industry
• Familiarity with version control tools like git
• Working knowledge of database systems such as PostgreSQL and MySQL
• Experience with SOAP and REST APIs
• Familiarity with Windows environments
