Senior Systems Engineer (Aegis Based Defense)

Responsibilities

• Support Aegis system installation and missile defense capability for the Fleet
• Ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of engineering documentation, including requirements and design modifications
• Support vessel construction, commissioning, testing, and final handover
• Prepare and present platform product status updates, reports, and technical briefings to stakeholders and Foreign Military Sale (FMS) customers
• Assess the scope of construction-impacting technical issues and expedite communication to appropriate SMEs and program office representatives
• Communicate the scope, status, and potential impact of technical issues to ensure construction schedule impacts are understood by MDA and shipbuilder teams
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks in the approval process for technical issues

Requirements

• US Citizenship with an active Secret Clearance
• Master’s Degree in a STEM field
• 12+ years of professional experience
• Direct experience with the Aegis Weapon System
• Minimum of three years supporting new construction shipbuilding programs with proven project management experience
• Strong understanding of USN ship installation requirements and processes
• Mastery of MS Office suite and familiarity with collaborative tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI Clearance
• Prior experience with Weapons Systems Deployment
• Experience with Missile Systems Engineering
• Technical expertise in Fleet operations, systems engineering, missile systems, or Aegis Qualifications
